Are We Missing Something?

Occasionally a new perspective breaks into our awareness and changes everything. I had one of those “God moments” a few days ago. In the midst of frustration and disappointment over waiting for things to change, the Lord spoke into my spirit. “Do you really believe my word?” Of course I said yes, rushing to answer before realizing he was setting me up.

He proceeded to remind me of Romans 8:28, “God causes ALL THINGS to work together for GOOD to those who love him.” Then He gave me an example from parenting. As much as we want to see all people healthy and growing, our first priority is to ensure that our own children are blessed. That is also true of God. Could this mean that the season we’re walking through is to benefit us first of all…to do the pruning in us so we can carry more of His glory going forward?

Isaiah 45:3 is an intriguing verse: “I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden wealth of secret places, so that you may know it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.”

God has treasure for us to discover…let’s look beyond the darkness and go find some gold!
