WCA Meeting Update

Here are some additional important details about the previously announced annual meeting of the Holston Chapter of the Wesleyan Covenant Association.

We will gather at Alcoa First United Methodist Church Saturday, March 19. This is an open meeting. During the business session, only individual WCA members and representatives of WCA member churches will be allowed to vote.

Doors will open at 10 a.m.

Worship will begin at 11 a.m.

Lunch Details!

After worship, we will break for lunch. Lunch will be a catered taco bar, with lots of salad items, allowing you to assemble your plate however you choose. Drinks and desserts will be included. The cost will be $15 per person, cash only, and you need to make reservations for the lunch in advance. To make a lunch reservation, please send an email to 50klunches@gmail.com. Lunch reservations must be received by noon Wednesday, March 16.

The business session will begin immediately after lunch, about 1:15 p.m.

During the business session, we will hear updates on how traditional churches might move to the new Global Methodist Church. We also will vote on the Holston WCA’s proposed board and elect delegates to the upcoming WCA Global Legislative Assembly.

To join the WCA, go to: https://wesleyancovenant.org/membership/. Be sure when filling out the form to mark your conference as being in “Holston,” rather than using a state name. Other conferences use the name “Tennessee” or “Virginia,” and you will not show in our local records if you enter the conference name incorrectly.
